The Gonzo Raven (he/him) is a writer, musician, and illustrator from the Pacific Northwest. After spending a decade battling grief, guilt, shame and high-functioning alcoholism, the GR got dry and quit their job to begin growing, healing and pursuing a career in storytelling. He also draws comics and whatever else pops into his madcap-slapstick-rock ‘n’ roll-sci fi-desert-carnival mind. Once described in a wedding program as “a cool cat with a heart of gold,” he writes Comic Books, Music, Short-Form Prose, Poetry and Web Content.

Smack McCoy (she/her) is a long-time associate of The Gonzo Raven and works as an editor and proofreader in Portland, Oregon. She thrives on bringing order to chaos and loves making people’s lives easier. She has been described as “a formidable opponent” and “conscientious yet foxy,” and she once told the full story of the abduction of Persephone to her coworkers because one of them was eating a pomegranate. Her interests include singing very loudly in the car, lifting weights, therapy, roller skating, and “the grandmotherly arts” (knitting, sewing, cross-stitch, and embroidery).
